How One Simple Connection Created Something Amazing

Feb 06, 2025

Do you ever get the feeling that you really need to do something and there is a bit of urgency to it?

For example, the feeling says “I should pull off the highway now to grab gas.” Then, after you fill up and get back on the highway, you realize there has been a car accident and that could have been you had you not listened to your gut

I got a similar nudge when I met Sarah back in the summer of 2023 playing golf at the Powelton Club. Make no mistake, I was there for the camaraderie. I immediately loved her: bold, smart, and funny. She was enjoying a summer off while she looked for a new career opportunity. But not just any career opportunity. Sarah is a badass expert in e-commerce, specifically in putting products on Amazon and getting them to sell millions of dollars.

The voice in my head said,

"Sarah really needs to meet Stacey.”

Does this ever happen to you?

When you see where this puzzle piece could fit with that puzzle piece?

So, Sarah is an expert digital marketer and my friend Stacey is a wildly successful entrepreneur who has an on-line business, but does not sell on Amazon. Stacey Hawkins

It just so happens Stacey is one of my very closest friends. We’ve practically raised our kids together. A fellow single mom, a powerhouse in business, and a trusted part of my most inner circle. All it takes is one quick call to Stacey and soon she’s pulling up in her convertible so we can adventure to a new town or experience! And when I decided to start a women’s executive networking group, Stacey was all in and incredibly supportive.

So I told her,

“You need to meet my new friend Sarah.”

Are you bracing yourself for what happened next?

Fast forward to an event I hosted last January for brilliant, amazing executive women in the Hudson Valley. Sarah and Stacey met. They never stopped talking.  Not for a minute. Not the entire night.

My intuition was right. They were meant to meet.

What was born out of that meeting?

The Moxie Food Co. where their motto is #NoSadDinners and the days of plain, boring chicken on a plate are over because “D*nner Shouldn’t Feel Like A Four Letter Word.” Amen! Bring it, ladies! 💥

My friends, here’s what we need to do to support other women in business:

Do you have a voice inside your head that’s talking to you? Are you too busy to listen? Whose life could you improve because you know somebody and could make an introduction or open a door?

You are a powerful agent of abundance and change. You have what it takes within you to be generous.

And when we give, our JOY multiplies.

Watching Stacey and Sarah gives me tremendous JOY.

I believe you can find JOY in cheering your friends on, too.

Or perhaps it’s opening the door for someone to work at your company.

Or literally making room for someone new at the table.

Own your power and use it well.

Write back and tell me whose life you are changing by honoring that voice that lives within you.

Glad to be doing it with you!
